Footpath causes school admissions row

Two mothers say they will teach their sons at home, after being refused places at a school which is just five minutes walk away. 11-year-olds Tom Covington-Young and Jack Richardson have been denied places at Barking Abbey Comprehensive School, because Barking and Dagenham council won't recognise the short-cut they take to get there.
